Note 804 Currently Listening to Beyonce Cowboy Carter Album On Spotify

I have been anticipating this album from Beyonce ever since hearing 16 Carriages and Texas Holdem. Who would have ever thought that Beyonce would come out with a country music album? I didn’t, even though I’ve seen her perform with the Dixie Chicks and Jennifer Nettles. I’m not sure what to expect from this album. I don’t look at Beyonce as anything like a country music artist. I guess I’m about to get schooled, or she gonna sound like a fool. I’ll be back to give my opinions on the album when I’m finished listening. This album has 27 songs and is 1 hour and 18 minutes play time.

Beyond all that, I can’t say this was an instant favorite album. I like the “single ladies” version of Beyonce better, and I hope this album was just a side project for experimentation.

Note 058 Morgan Wallen May Get Shut Out of Grammys Again But The Reasons Are Complicated

“Song of the Summer” is not an official Grammy category, of course, but the soundtrack to America’s collective life during those halcyon warm-weather months is definitely a harbinger. And although that distinction has never previously gone to a country song, most independent observers agreed that 2023’s title belonged to Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night.” After becoming the first country song by a solo male to top the Hot 100 in 42 years, it became the second longest-running single of any genre to top that Billboard chart, with an astonishing 16 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1.
