Note 097 No Refresh On Mastodon That I Can Tell

Something I’m noticing on Mastodon Android app is that it doesn’t seem to “refresh” on search results. You know how Facebook or Twitter will refresh your newsfeed after a short period of time and you lose your place when scrolling… I’m not seeing that in Mastodon.

A day or two ago I searched for posts about Inoreader that I started using about a week ago. Over the last night or two, I’ve been able to scroll through the search results in the Mastodon Android app and it has been great reading through old posts without losing my place. Even if I go to my Home timeline, or my personal page in the app, once I go back to the search tab, I find where I left off. I LOVE THAT! It’s amazing.

Note 040 WordPress.com Blogs Can Now Be Followed On Mastodon And Other Federated Platforms

Earlier this year, WordPress.com owner Automattic acquired a plug-in that allowed WordPress blogs to be followed in the fediverse — the decentralized social networks that include the Twitter rival Mastodon and others. As a result, it launched version 1.0.0 of the plug-in, allowing WordPress blogs to be followed on Mastodon and other fediverse apps. At the time, however, WordPress.com blogs were not yet supported. But that changes today.

Note 038 WordPress now offers official support for ActivityPub

Bloggers and other publishers using WordPress to host their site can now use it to join the fediverse through an official ActivityPub plug-in.
