Note 777 A Total Of 17 Used Ebooks Bought This Weekend

A great Sunday night here on March 10th, 2024 at 11:54 PM CST. I spent the evening shopping on Ebay for used books. I found, and bought 17 used books on Ebay over the weekend to add to my home library. Buying used books definitely takes discipline, especially when you have limited space like I do, but so worth owning them. There are so many out there that I would love to own. I can’t wait to start diving into my directories and encyclopedias for blogging so that I can share some content from my book collection. I haven’t really looked at the books I’ve collected, and I’ve been collecting used books for at least 5 years now I think, and it’s definitely time that I start using them.

Note 776 Apartment Life 012 Still Unpacking And Decluttering

I just realized today on Sunday, March 10th, 2024, that I haven’t made an update about my move to the new apartment since January.

So what is new? I have bought so much since I started moving into the apartment in November 2023. I still have a lot of things I need to get, but my spending on apartment necessities is slowing down some. Spending is turning more into buying things for decorating the apartment, more than buying practical things needed for basic living. I’ve been buying a lot of artificial plants, and I will continue buying more for awhile. I hope to have the majority of my home decor spending done by the end of June this year.

I’ve been stocking up on more storage containers again. This time around, I’m getting smaller containers that can be used to organize my belongings into easier to handle containers, rather than keeping things in big containers. The reason for this is because it is just easier to see what you have in smaller containers than it is the bigger ones when you have a lot of things stored in them. The smaller containers are also easier to move around the apartment when I want to dig through them for decluttering. So I have all of the large containers I bought when I moved, plus a bunch of small containers I recently bought, and tomorrow I’m going to buy some medium containers I had my eyes on last week. That may or may not take care of all of container needs. If not, I think one more shopping trip for containers next week will probably do it for me. My goal is transfer all of my possessions into new containers, and get rid of all the old storage containers that don’t match. I know that sounds like a waste somewhat, but it is a part of my decluttering goal. Having all of the new containers only would mean that all of my containers match in size, and so would be easier to organize on my utility shelves.

So I still have a lot of work to do with organizing things in my apartment, but I’m getting to near the end of most of the work I need to do and then I can start actually living in a home again. I can already tell that I’m getting there because I’ve gotten back into some crafting and shopping for more used books… which is a story for another post to come.

Note 775 A Rant About WordPressdotcom

I have two things to rant about today regarding WordPressdotcom. The first thing is that I noticed they reduced the amount of storage on the Business plan (now called Creator) from 200GB to 50GB, but the price is still the same. What kind of insanity is that? Second, you are not able to use a video block to display a video you have uploaded to your website media files unless you are on the Explorer plan. Personally I think, and I’ve been saying this for years, that WordPressdotcom does itself no service by limiting features. The only thing they should be limiting is the amount of storage space you get with each plan. If they did that, I feel that they would substantially increase their sales, but it appears they prefer to play games with their customers, and if many are like me, we’re not buying into limitations. I’ve been with WordPressdotcom long enough to have experienced all of their plans, except for the upper-most one, and aside from being able to use WordPress plugins, have noticed no difference in service regarding how my websites act and deliver content to my viewers. So when WordPressdotcom starts limiting features, why should I keep paying for the higher price plans, when I can get the same service on lower plans with less storage (since I’m so far someone who doesn’t actually use a lot of storage most of the time), and just forget about trying to enhance my websites with features they are limiting, and that may not make my website better anyway? Things that make you go hmmm.

Note 774 Recommended Sellers On Ebay Web Version

It has been a long time since I logged into Ebay on the web. I didn’t realize how much I missed the web version of a platform I’ve shopped on since 2000… yes I said 2000… that means I’ve been shopping there for 24 years… wow. Anyway what I really wanted to say is I noticed they now have a “recommended sellers” block on their home page, and I think that’s cool. I’m assuming these recommended sellers are based off of items you have already bought previously. So I’m definitely going to have to check out some of these, and definitely need to log in on the web version of Ebay more often. I don’t care how good an app is, 9 times out of 10, you will always get a better experience on the web. Also regarding recommended Ebay sellers, I am trying to get into the habit of saving seller’s profiles when I buy something on Ebay, and eventually I hope to make up a list of sellers I recommend here at Pad53 in the lists section of this website.
